On July 21, 2005, the Communications Workers of America and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers filed comments with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to deny the bid of Comcast Corp. and Time Warner Inc. to take over the assets of Adelphia Communications Corp.
