Cable Contest Heats Up in New Jersey

Two years after New Jersey struck down barriers for competition among cable TV providers, the landscape has changed dramatically.

Verizon has wooed away from Comcast "more than 214,000 subscribers," and Comcast has helped itself to an undisclosed number of phone customers in New Jersey, transforming itself to the third-largest phone company in the United States in less than four years. At&T and Verizon are number one and two, respectively.
